Hydro electric power generation station. Heavy Ice build prevented plant operators from fully closing the tailrace gates. Without a complete dewatering a proper inspection could not be completed. Divers remove all obstructions & sealed leaks along the perimeter of the tailrace gate for a complete seal. The ice buildup was 20’ below the surface.
Lock Project Details Federal Government
USACE lock inspection & cleaning. Annually the sill are inspected for debris and cleaned if warranted. Typically, the work is done at the close of the shipping season in preparation for the upcoming winter lock preventive maintenance. Divers routinely perform the inspection and cleaning at both the upper and lower lock sills.
Intake Project Details Municipality
Johnston intake screen installation involved setting & cutting piles to installing custom bracket saddles to support the massive intake structure required long bottom time and multi divers working several days to complete the project before any deadline restriction.
Grout Project Details State Government
Undermining of NYSTA canal walls require installation of grout filled bags by diver placement to prevent further deterioration. Divers typically pre inspect voids. Measurements are taken for fabrication of custom grout bags which in turn will be filled with specified grout mix as per request.
